Still Running

The main focus of this story is Josie, a woman deeply affected by both her past and her relationship with her family. I was quite intrigued by Josie’s “secret” and found it to be an interesting twist once revealed. But because of this secret and incidences in the past, Josie has her walls firmly in place as she seeks to both protect herself and protect others from what she fears will happen if they get close. As the title implies, Josie seems to run from her problems rather than face them head-on and is a self-described “runner.”

But with Cade and the children she cares for, she may have finally found a reason to stop running. I really enjoyed watching Josie’s relationship develop with both Cade and the children. The children, as well as other characters, seem determined to play matchmaker bring the couple together. Josie goes through quite a transformation as the story progresses and Cade works through her defenses. It was enjoyable to watch.

Still Running is a wonderful story that I found to be a very entertaining read. Josie’s journey as she learns to stop running is one that many should enjoy.

Still Running

STILL RUNNING is classic romance.  Josie and Cade’s relationship, including their physical relationship, takes a long time to develop.  Almost everything takes a long time to develop – the relationship, the reason that Josie was running, the means by which her sojourn comes to an end.

If you stay with it to see how it develops, you will find that the writing has great depth and the characters come to life.  Josie struggles to keep Cade away even while she is around him.  She finds ways to re-capture parts of her life that she lost, even while refusing to see the things she could have if she’d just let Cade in.  Cade struggles to get past the walls that Josie keeps throwing up.  And it is in Cade’s determination that you can see his measure, as a man and the man who’s determined to stop Josie from running.
